The world has had all kinds of "wise men" whose sayings and thoughts have been gathered and treasured, but it is only when we come to Jesus that we see how wisdom really works.
We are used to thinking of life in terms of our present mortal body rather than the eternal life that reaches to the new creation; we are used to grasping after money and status here and now rather than the treasure and approval of heaven; we are not used to walking in step with the Spirit with His light and power.
For these reasons we find the way of wisdom may often seem to be a puzzling riddle.
The wise life is the life that consistently prays to the Father "Your will be done on earth as in heaven".
Wisdom knows how to take the laws and commands of God and express them with love, righteousness and faithfulness in all the diversity and complexity of this life.
Jesus is not just another "wiseman" trying to peer into the mists to find wise landmarks in the fog of life.
Jesus is Wisdom itself and He walks in the clear light of wisdom, calling on the whole world to come to Him and learn from Him.
